Learn Together in a Non-Toxic Facebook Group

As a pastor, I spent many longs hours writing sermons in solitude.  I loved it.  Typically, a sermon required at least 20 hours of my week.  It made sense.  I needed the quiet time for study and prayer.

Small group prep was something different.  At our church, each small group studied the same thing.  So, while I did some prep for small groups alone, most of my time was spent with the other leaders working through what our studies were going to look like that week.  I loved that time of collaboration. 

Creating our Order of Worships and picking out our songs were also collaborative processes.  The more I trusted the wisdom of God working through my team, the stronger our services were.

However, not everyone has the opportunity to learn for the wisdom of others.  That’s why we created the Church Training Partners Facebook group

Church Training Partners is an invitation-only Facebook group with the purpose of growing leaders and growing the church in collaboration. We are going to offer FB lives and webinars about raising up leaders in the church, church planting, and growing in depth and number. 

To keep the group healthy, we have 4 guidelines. Our moderators are going to be vigilant about this. 

Consider others better than yourself.

Pursue theological/political disagreements somewhere else.

Share yourself and not your promotions.

Share encouragements and not links or tags.

We want the group to be intensely encouraging and practical.
