If pastoral health is not a priority, discouragement, poor physical health, and even depression are possible consequences. The biggest question we hear from most pastors is, “When am I supposed to take care of myself? I can barely take care of my family and my church.” This module is here to help.

CTP leadership has personally worked through epilepsy, heart conditions, cancer, depression, and many other conditions related to ministry. We can’t wait to share our experiences as well as the experiences of hundreds of other pastors. Coupling those experiences with solid biblical truth, this module hopes to set you on a path of pastoral health.

One of the qualifications for ministry is leading your family well. Ironically, the cost of ministry is often family health. The stresses of time and energy gradually eat away at family intimacy, and making corrections is difficult as the demands of ministry only increase over time. This module will speak to creating family patterns as well as communicating to the church about ensuring pastoral family health.

The ministry is not a financial growth industry, meaning the patterns of raises and promotion don’t exist in the church like they do in many other occupations. Couple that truth with seminary debt and the increased costs that come with children and growing families, and pastoral finances can be a mess. We offer practical encouragement that includes but also goes beyond programs for debt relief. 

Becoming a student of the city and community in which you live is biblical and practical. Loving the community you’re in is essential for fulfilling the Great Commission. But doing so is difficult, and integrating that community understanding into ministry is even more so. This module shares great examples, success stories, and even mistakes to avoid in knowing and understanding your community.

Growing as a leader to your people is essential for them to continue following your vision. Leadership, coupled with an increased desire to be fiercely biblical, is incredibly attractive and will play a crucial part in your church’s development. This module focuses on a topic that is woefully ignored by most seminaries.   

How do you train the leadership within your church? What resources are helpful, and how long should training last? This module introduces a model of church training that will be helpful for both church officers and lay leaders. 

In addition to the Holy Spirit, what enabled biblical heroes like Moses and Peter to cast a vision that people wanted to follow? This module will help you articulate your vision and will give you practical tools to communicate that vision to your church.

How do you determine the health of your congregation? Is it numbers or giving? Is it participation in small groups? This module focuses on effective diagnostics for church health and teaches how to best implement them.

How do your members serve within the church? Do you have teams? Do you have committees? How do you serve your community? Can anyone bring an idea? Does it come from your deacons? This incredibly crucial module helps you think through a service strategy for both inner and outer congregational service. 

Evangelism is woven into the character of the church through the Great Commission, but how does a church develop a strategy to train the church? How does a church develop a strategy to implement an organized evangelism effort? This module is crucial as churches consider how to be both obedient and effective in their evangelism.
